Bio
I am excited to be a part of the Business Education / CTAE department at Villa Rica High School. I have an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing from Georgia State University. After graduating college, I worked for Bank of America as a teller and Verizon Wireless as a customer service representative. After getting married and starting a family in Villa Rica, GA, I decided to make a career change by becoming a certified teacher. While earning a Master of Arts in Teaching in Special Education, I gained valuable teaching experience by working as a substitute teacher and an Adapted Special Education paraprofessional. For two school years, I worked as a paraprofessional in the Curriculum-Based Instruction (CBI) Department at Langston Hughes High School located in Fairburn, GA. After graduating from the University of West Georgia with a Master of Arts in Teaching, I taught students, in grades K-5th, with adapted special needs for one school year in Douglas County. During the 2018/2019 through the 2019/2020 school years, I taught students in the CBI department at Langston Hughes High School; this time as a lead teacher. During the 2020/2021 through the 2021/2022 school years, I utilized my gifts and certification in Visual Fine Arts and taught students, in grades K-5th, Art Education in College Park, GA. My professional work and teaching experiences will aid me in serving as a valuable resource to the students, parents, faculty, and staff at Villa Rica High School.
