Bio

Bonjour, je m'appelle Madame Allen! Hello, I'm Mrs. Allen!

This is my 12th year teaching French and my 5th year serving here at Villa Rica High School.

Outside of the French language and culture, I have also been blessed to teach classes like IB Theory of Knowledge, IB Extended Essay, IB Mentorship, and even a few years of elementary foreign languages and after-school program work. I've always valued interdisciplinary and creative approaches to teaching and learning where students can uncover their strengths and maximize their talents. I love sharing my heart for our community and encouraging young people to reach for the stars as they become enrolled, enlisted, employed and engaged citizens of our state and nation. I currently lead our school's International Skills Diploma Seal program, our French Honor Society and Varsity Basketball Cheerleading.

I love sports, reading, cooking, and having fun outdoors! During my time off I like to travel and be involved with my church and family.

Prior to VRHS, I served at Trinity School in Atlanta and in the Douglas County School System, where I also coached Varsity Cheerleading and Varsity Tennis.

My Education:

  • International Baccalaureate Diploma - Douglas County High School
  • B.A. in Foreign Languages and Literature - University of West Georgia
  • Diplôme d'études en langue française - Institut de Touraine - Tours, France
  • M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction in Gifted & Creative Education - Louisiana State University-Shreveport
  • I'm currently pursuing my Ed.S. in Educational Psychology from the University of Georgia.
  • I hope to someday earn a doctorate degree from one of these institutions.
